August 1 Update

I want to take this opportunity to thank Verda Gross for the things that she has accomplished during the past year as Volunteer Recruiter and Coordinator. This one year position was funded through a grant specific to the task of recruiting and coordinating volunteers for the FFSC. Under Verda's leadership, the club has more than doubled the number of active volunteers and having someone in the office to greet drop-ins has led to a considerable increase in club memberships as well. Today was Verda's last day in this position. We know that we will continue to see Verda actively involved in the club as a volunteer herself as she and Dan will continue to organize and run shuffleboard as they have done so well for a number of years. As we move forward, we look forward to all of our great volunteers continuing to help with the many things that are needed to ensure that the club maintains its many programs, activities and special events. Thank you to all of our volunteers. You make all things possible at the club.

Those who have been participating in Somatic Chair Stretching will be pleased to know that a further session will be held on Monday, August 12 from 10:00 - 11:00. If you have not yet attended, you are welcome to do so free of charge for the first session and $10 for further sessions. Continued sessions will be based on attendance and availability of the instructor Sandra Silva RMT.

The next Toonie Trivia is on August 29 2-4. This activity has grown to be a very popular activity. If you have not yet attended, please consider joining in the fun and camaraderie. Hope to see you there!
