Club Update

Hello and Happy New Year. It is hoped that 2023 will bring good health and happiness to all!

At the January 4th Board meeting, the Board addressed the vacancy in the executive resulting from the passing of our president, Jean Smith. The changes that were adopted will remain in place until the Annual General Meeting which will be held in May which is in keeping with club’s bylaws. For the last few years, due to Covid shut downs, the AGM was held in the fall but there is every expectation that the AGM can take place in May once again. The following changes will remain in place until the AGM: Rosemary McColeman will hold the position of Acting President, Chery Dyer will hold the position of Acting 1st Vice President (as well as her current position as Recording Secretary) and Joan Cohen will hold the position of Acting 2nd Vice President. All other Board position will remain the same. A full list of the Board can be found on our website at fenelonseniors.com. With the loss of Jean, there is one vacant seat on the Board and we are very much in need of a volunteer interested in filling that position. With the new year, we are looking forward to restarting all of our activities (as listed on our website) and hope that if you are new to the club that you will come out and give the activities a try. We also look forward to the return of members who are active participants already. Newcomers will find the activities very welcoming and accommodating so do not hesitate to give any of them a try.

If you have not renewed your membership for the 2023 year, please do so as soon as possible as it is very important to the future of the club to have as many members as possible.
