Contract Position Available

The Fenelon Falls Seniors’ Club is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for an eight-month, part-time contract position. The successful applicant must reside in the City of Kawartha Lakes, have in-depth knowledge of the Fenelon Falls community and have experience in motivating and organizing others.  Knowledge and experience involving programs and activities of interest to seniors is necessary. In addition, computer literacy and a valid driver’s license are essential. Preference may be given to applicants who are fifty-five years and older.

This eight-month, $12,500 part-time contract (16 hours weekly at $25 per hour), will involve the development and delivery of four educational workshops to facilitate healthy aging, and related follow-up activities. Hours of work may include evenings and weekends (when necessary), as well as week days. The Project Coordinator will be responsible to the FFSC Board of Directors and report to the Board President or designate. Duties and Contract Requirements:

·         Hours of work will be on-site

·         Coordinate and implement four educational workshops to facilitate healthy aging as outlined in the project plan

·         Develop, coordinate and implement follow-up activities directly related to the workshop topics as outlined in the project plan

·         Secure all necessary workshop presenters and activity leaders

·         Develop evaluation strategies to garner feedback and effectiveness of workshops presented

·         Arrange all scheduling needed for workshops and related activities

·         Design promotional strategies for workshops and related activities

·         Utilize social media and other strategies in the promotion of workshops and related activities

·         Manage all details and scheduling related to preparation and execution of workshops and related activities

·         Contact and utilize volunteers to effectively carry out necessary tasks related to the workshops and follow-up activities

·         Prepare media releases and membership notifications related to workshops and related activities

·         Greet potential club members or those who require club related information during hours of work

·         Utilize workshops and related activities to interest participants in becoming club members

·         Explore other sources of funding/grants that may support similar projects

·         Secure prior approval for costs/funds related to workshops and follow-up activities

·         Maintain detailed records of work hours

·         Provide regular progress report to the Board of Directors

·         Ensure organization’s purpose and its mandate are clearly communicated

·         Maintain strict confidentiality as it pertains to the organization, its Board, membership and volunteers

·         Carry out any further duties that the Board deems necessary to fulfill the contract position
