May Update

This is an update on the special activities that will be happening in May and June in addition to our regular weekly activities. The Country Living Show that was held April 19-21 was a big success for the club as well as for the community businesses. Thank you to the many people who dropped by our display to say hello, learn about our many activities and to support the club’s 50/50 fundraiser. Also thank you to the many volunteers who made this event possible and congratulations to the three local winners who took home a share of the money raised. A free hearing clinic was fully booked on May 2 from 9:30-3:30p.m. A second clinic will be held if there are sufficient numbers. Please call the club at 705-887-7007 if you are interested. The club will have a table at the May 11th Psychic Fair at Curious in Fenelon. Fifty/fifty tickets will be available for purchase in support of the club and the programs it offers.Thursday May 16 will be Toonie Trivia 2-4 followed by another Toonie Trivia June 27. This is a fun group activity that has proven very popular. There is still lots of room for those who are interested. Please contact the club if you plan to attend. The club's yard sale will be held May 18 from 8:00 a.m. - 1 p.m. If you have items that you no longer need, please consider donating them to the sale (no clothing please). Let your friends and family know about the sale and that the club is looking for donations. Items can be brought into the club starting Monday, May 13. "Remember When...for Baby Boomers" is being held May 23 from 2-3:30. Spaces are filling up. If you enjoy laughing, this is the place to be. This event is free to club members and $5 for non-members. On May 30th the Club's Annual General Meeting is being held at 1:30 and is open to all club members. Your presence at this meeting is important, so please plan on attending. A "Come & Be Aware" workshop that was to be held on June 6 has been postposed until the fall. June is Seniors’ Month. A tea and silent auction are being held in celebration of seniors on June 20 from 2-4. This is not only a celebration of seniors but also a celebration of Fenelon Falls’ 150 anniversary. At 2:30, the reUnion Choir is presenting a medley of songs from days gone by. As you can see there are many things happening to mark on your calendar - lots of opportunities to participate and enjoy. A special thank you is being extended to several club volunteers who worked for three days to strip and wax the floor. The floor looks fantastic and “reflects” the many hours of hard work!
