Volunteer Recruiter and Coordinator Position

The Fenelon Falls Seniors’ Club is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for a one-year, part time contract position. The successful applicant must reside in the City of Kawartha Lakes, have in-depth knowledge of the Fenelon Falls community and have experience in motivating and organizing others.  Knowledge and experience involving programs and activities of interest to seniors is necessary. In addition, computer literacy and a valid driver’s license are essential. Preference may be given to applicants who are fifty-five years and older.

This one-year, $32,000 part-time contract (25 hours weekly), may include evenings and weekends, as well as week days. The recruiter/coordinator will be responsible to the FFSC Board of Directors and report to the Board President or designate. Duties:

Maintain detail records of project hours;

Assess specific need for volunteers;

Establish current volunteers through contact with club members;

Document detailed records of volunteer’s information, skills, assignments;

Design a specific promotional volunteer recruitment campaign utilizing various media platforms as well as other forms of communication;

Secure approval for any activities that may require costs/funds;

Coordinate special events to promote benefits of volunteerism;

Provide orientation/training for volunteers;

Coordinate current and newly recruited volunteers through support, planning and scheduling;

Fill in any occurring gaps in volunteer scheduling;

Rearrange scheduling as may be needed;

Assess satisfaction and availability of volunteers on an ongoing basis;

Schedule recruiter’s presence at the centre to offset current programs and activities;

Ensure presence at the centre as point of contact for drop-ins;

Form/create special volunteer committees to serve needs that occur;

Chair meetings of standing volunteer committees and ad hoc committees as needed;

Devise and implement strategies to increase club rentals;

Address needs related to club rentals requiring volunteers;

Ensure organization’s purpose and its mandate are clearly communicated;

Maintain strict confidentiality as it pertains to the organization, its Board, membership and volunteers;

Any further duties that the Board deems necessary to fulfill the position.
